Adult Pickleball Program

Dates: Wednesdays, January 7th – March 4th, 2026

Time: 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Location: Salvation Army, Long Beach (3000 Long Beach Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90807)

Join us for a fun, social, and skill-building 9-week Adult Pickleball Program designed for neurodivergent adults seeking community connection, physical activity, and structured recreation. This supportive class welcomes all experience levels—from beginners learning the fundamentals to returning players looking to build confidence and stay active.

Our trained staff create an inclusive environment where participants can grow at their own pace, enjoy movement, and connect with peers through one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.

Schedule:

1:30-3:30 PM: Pickleball Instruction & Games

Each session includes:

  • Warm-ups to build coordination and readiness
  • Skill development (serving, rallying, footwork, paddle control)
  • Structured drills tailored to participant abilities
  • Modified games to promote teamwork, communication, and confidence
  • Guided match play for those ready for gameplay

Activities are adapted for a wide range of motor, sensory, and learning needs to ensure every participant feels successful and supported.

Addtional Program Information:

  • Ages: Adults (18+)
  • No prior experience required
  • All equipment is provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own paddle
  • Aides/support staff are welcome if needed
  • Designed specifically for neurodivergent adults, including individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and other support needs
  • Staff are trained to create a safe, respectful, and empowering environment

Location: Cal Bowl, 2500 E Carson St, Lakewood, CA

Get ready to strike up some fun in our 9-week Bowling League, designed specifically for neurodivergent children! This inclusive and engaging program offers a perfect mix of recreation, skill-building, and social interaction in a supportive environment where every participant can thrive.

Program Description: 

  • Bowling Basics & Beyond: Participants will learn bowling fundamentals, including proper grip, aiming techniques, and lane etiquette. Our coaches will guide children through games and activities that help improve hand-eye coordination, motor planning, and focus.
  • Team Spirit: Each week, children will bowl alongside teammates, encouraging social interaction and teamwork. Whether cheering for a strike or celebrating small wins, participants will learn to support and connect with one another.
  • Achievement & Fun: Kids will set goals, track progress, and experience the joy of achievement in a low-pressure, fun-filled environment.

What Your Child Will Gain:

  • Physical Development: Improved hand-eye coordination, motor skills, and body awareness through the repetitive and focused movements of bowling.
  • Social Connections: Opportunities to make friends, practice turn-taking, and build conversational skills in a relaxed, playful setting.

Saturday Drum Circle & Inclusive Basketball League (All Ages)

Saturday Drum Circle & Inclusive Basketball League

Dates: Saturdays, January 10th – February 28th, 2026 No Classes on February 7th

Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Start your weekends with rhythm, movement, and community connection! Our Saturday Drum Circle & Inclusive Basketball League offers a full morning of creative expression, physical activity, and team-building designed specifically for neurodivergent youth. Participants will enjoy music-making, skill development, and league-style gameplay in a safe, structured, and welcoming environment.

Schedule: 

10:00 – 11:00 AM: Drum Circle

Led by an experienced facilitator, this hour introduces participants to rhythm, percussion, and collaborative music-making.

Activities include:

  • Guided drumming exercises
  • Call-and-response patterns
  • Group rhythm games
  • Opportunities for self-expression and sensory exploration

The drum circle promotes communication, confidence, creativity, and regulation through music.

11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Basketball Practice

This session focuses on inclusive basketball instruction tailored to all skill levels.

Participants will build:

  • Fundamental skills (dribbling, passing, shooting)
  • Teamwork & communication
  • Coordination & confidence
  • Game readiness for the league hour

Activities are adapted to support diverse learning styles, sensory needs, and motor abilities.

12:00 – 1:00 PM: Basketball League Games

Players take the court for weekly league games that reinforce sportsmanship, teamwork, and skill development.

What’s included:

  • Team assignments and structured gameplay
  • Weekly officiated or coach-supported games
  • League jerseys for all participants
  • End-of-season awards banquet, combined with the Flag Football Banquet at a later date

This league is designed for encouragement, confidence, and fun—every athlete is supported and celebrated.

Additional Program Information:

  • Participants may attend one, two, or all three hours
