Our Adaptive Basketball League – Competitive Division is designed for athletes who have a solid understanding of basketball fundamentals and are ready to continue developing their skills through structured competition. This division provides an authentic league experience while emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, basketball IQ, and continued skill development in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Athletes will compete against players of similar skill levels, allowing them to build confidence, improve decision-making, and apply their skills in real game situations while receiving guidance from experienced coaches.

What to Expect:

Throughout the season, athletes will focus on:

• Advanced ball handling, passing, and shooting
• Offensive and defensive game concepts
• Basketball IQ and decision-making
• Team communication and leadership
• Sportsmanship and teamwork
• Understanding official basketball rules, fouls, and game management

Coaches will continue to provide instruction and encouragement but will take a more hands-off approach during games, allowing athletes to think through situations independently while experiencing the flow of competitive basketball. Officials and coaches will teach and enforce basketball rules, helping players gain valuable experience in a true game environment.

Season Format:

September – League Preparation

The first month of the season is dedicated to preparing athletes for league play. During these practices, coaches will continue developing basketball fundamentals, evaluate skill levels, and organize balanced teams to ensure a fun and competitive season.

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

• League Practices (All Competitive and Hoopers division athletes)

Beginning in October

Each Saturday will include both practice and league play.

Schedule will be released before season starts.

League Jersey

Every registered athlete will receive an official 5-Eleven Hoops Adaptive Basketball League jersey to wear throughout the season.

Following registration, our team will contact you to collect your participant's jersey size so it can be ordered before the first league games.

Your athlete's jersey is included with registration and helps create an exciting game-day experience while fostering team pride and a sense of belonging throughout the season.

Championship Saturday & Awards Celebration

The season will conclude with a special Championship Saturday & Awards Celebration on December 19th.

To allow extra time for the games and festivities, there will be no team practices on the final day. Instead Compettive athletes will compete in their final league game before joining Hoopers athletes and their families for a league-wide celebration.

Following the games, all participants are invited to enjoy:

• Championship games
• End-of-season awards recognizing every athlete's growth, effort, sportsmanship, and dedication
• Donuts and refreshments
• Team photos with coaches and teammates

At 5-Eleven Hoops, we believe every athlete deserves to be celebrated. Championship Saturday is an opportunity to recognize each player's accomplishments while bringing together our entire basketball community to celebrate an incredible season.

• Competitive Division is intended for athletes who are comfortable with basketball fundamentals and are ready for a more competitive style of play.
• Placement is based primarily on basketball skill level and game readiness rather than age alone.
• Please provide an aide if needed.
• This league is designed for neurodivergent athletes, including individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other developmental differences
