Our Adaptive Basketball League – Hoopers Division is designed for athletes who are newer to basketball or benefit from additional coaching and individualized instruction. This division provides a fun, supportive, and encouraging introduction to league basketball while helping athletes develop the confidence and skills needed to succeed both on and off the court.
Athletes will receive personalized instruction from multiple coaches while experiencing the excitement of playing on a team and participating in real basketball games. As players continue to grow and develop throughout the season, they will build confidence, improve their basketball skills, and develop a love for the game in a positive and inclusive environment.
What to Expect:
Throughout the season, athletes will focus on:
- Dribbling, passing, and shooting fundamentals
- Footwork, coordination, and motor planning
- Learning the rules and flow of basketball
- Teamwork and communication
- Confidence building through game play
- Developing skills at an individualized pace
Hoopers Division is intentionally designed to provide additional support. Multiple coaches will be actively involved throughout practices and games, offering personalized instruction, encouragement, and positive reinforcement. While coaches provide more hands-on guidance than in Competitive Division, athletes will still participate in real games each week and experience the excitement of being part of a basketball league.
As athletes continue to improve, they may be recommended for Division 1 in future league seasons.
Season Format:
September – League Preparation
The first month of the season is dedicated to developing basketball fundamentals, building confidence, evaluating skill levels, and creating balanced teams to prepare athletes for league play.
11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
- League Practices (All Division 1 and Division 2 athletes)
Beginning in October
Each Saturday will include both practice and league play.
Schedule will be release before season play
Teams will compete against different opponents within the Hoopers Division throughout the season, creating a fun and engaging league experience while continuing to build basketball skills, teamwork, and confidence.
League Jersey
Every registered athlete will receive an official 5-Eleven Hoops Adaptive Basketball League jersey to wear throughout the season.
Following registration, our team will contact you to collect your participant's jersey size so it can be ordered before the first league games.
Your athlete's jersey is included with registration and helps create an exciting game-day experience while fostering team pride and a sense of belonging throughout the season.
Championship Saturday & Awards Celebration
The season will conclude with a special Championship Saturday & Awards Celebration on December 19th.
To allow extra time for the games and festivities, there will be no team practices on the final day. Instead, Hoopers division athletes will compete in their final league game before joining Competitive Division athletes and their families for a league-wide celebration.
Following the games, all participants are invited to enjoy:
- Championship games
- End-of-season awards recognizing every athlete's growth, effort, sportsmanship, and dedication
- Donuts and refreshments
- Team photos with coaches and teammates
At 5-Eleven Hoops, we believe every athlete deserves to be celebrated. Championship Saturday is an opportunity to recognize each player's accomplishments while bringing together our entire basketball community to celebrate an incredible season.
