Our Adaptive Basketball League – Rookies is designed specifically for athletes ages 4–7 who are beginning their basketball journey. This division introduces young athletes to the game through fun, engaging activities that build confidence, coordination, teamwork, and a love for basketball in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Coaches provide hands-on instruction every step of the way, ensuring each athlete experiences success while learning the fundamentals of the game.
What to Expect:
Throughout the season, athletes will focus on:

Balance, coordination, and gross motor skill development

Building confidence through positive reinforcement

Learning basketball fundamentals through fun games and activities
Our youngest athletes will receive individualized coaching from multiple staff members throughout practices and games. League play is designed to be instructional, allowing athletes to experience the excitement of basketball while learning in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
Season Format:
September – League Preparation
The first month of the season is dedicated to developing basketball fundamentals, building confidence, and preparing athletes for league play through fun, structured practices.

- League Practices
Beginning in October
Each Saturday will include both practice and league play.
- League Game
Games are designed to reinforce the skills learned during practice while creating a fun and positive first league experience for every athlete.
League Jersey
Every registered athlete will receive an official 5-Eleven Hoops Adaptive Basketball League jersey to wear throughout the season.
Following registration, our team will contact you to collect your participant's jersey size so it can be ordered before the first league games.
Your athlete's jersey is included with registration and helps create an exciting game-day experience while fostering team pride and a sense of belonging throughout the season.
Championship Saturday & Awards Celebration
The season will conclude with a special Championship Saturday & Awards Celebration on December 19th.
To allow extra time for the games and festivities, there will be no team practices on the final day. Instead, athletes will compete in their final league game before joining the other league divisions and their families for a league-wide celebration.
Following the games, all participants are invited to enjoy:
- Championship games
- End-of-season awards recognizing every athlete's growth, effort, sportsmanship, and dedication
- Donuts and refreshments
- Team photos with coaches and teammates
At 5-Eleven Hoops, we believe every athlete deserves to be celebrated. Championship Saturday is an opportunity to recognize each player's accomplishments while bringing together our entire basketball community to celebrate an incredible season.
Important Notes:
- This division is open exclusively to athletes ages 4–7. Registrations outside of this age range will not be accepted.
- This division is designed for beginner athletes who are just learning the game of basketball.
- Hoops will be lowered to an age-appropriate height to encourage proper shooting mechanics, confidence, and success.
- 5-Eleven Hoops staff reserves the right to move players to a different division if it is determined to be a better fit based on a combination of age, skill level, and attendance.
- Please provide an aide if needed.
- This league is designed for neurodivergent athletes, including individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other developmental differences
