Tuesday Basketball and Photography Program (Ages 13-17)

Dates: Tuesdays, July 1st- September 2nd (No Class July 8th and August 5th)

Time: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Location: Salvation Army, Long Beach (3000 Long Beach Blvd, 90807)

Join us for a fun and enriching 10-week program designed to foster creativity, confidence, physical activity, and social connection in neurodivergent individuals! Our Tuesday Basketball & Photography Program offers a dynamic and inclusive environment where participants can explore both athletic and artistic skills through structured, supportive instruction tailored to their individual needs and strengths.

5:00 – 6:00 PM: Basketball

This session offers fundamental basketball instruction, skill-building drills, and inclusive games for all ages and experience levels. From dribbling and passing to teamwork and communication, participants will build confidence and physical coordination in a fun and engaging environment. Activities are modified as needed to support individual learning styles and motor abilities.

6:00 – 7:00 PM: Photography

Led by an experienced instructor with a passion for teaching beginners, this session introduces participants to the art of photography. Using a custom-designed curriculum, students will learn how to capture the world through their unique lens. The program culminates in a final-day Art Gallery Showcase, where participants will display their work for friends and family. Invitations will be provided to celebrate their creativity and progress.

Note: Participants are encouraged to bring and use their own phone or a parent’s phone for taking photos, as there will be a limited number of cameras available for use.

  • Participants are welcome to attend either or both hours of the program.
  • Please provide an aide if one is required for your participant.
  • This program is specifically designed for neurodivergent individuals, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other developmental differences. Our trained staff adapt activities to meet the diverse needs of all participants in a safe, respectful, and empowering space.
