Community Outings Program (Ages 13 & up)

Time: 12:00-4:00 PM 

Discover the joy of exploration with our Community Outings program, designed to provide neurodivergent individuals of all ages with enriching experiences that foster independence, social interaction, and community engagement. These three specially curated outings will allow participants to connect with peers, discover new environments, and build practical life skills.

Program Description: 

Each outing features a unique activity and location, such as visiting local parks, exploring cultural landmarks, attending community events, or enjoying interactive recreational experiences. Full details, including specific locations and activities, will be shared closer to each date.

What Participants Will Gain:

Independence & Life Skills: Opportunities to navigate real-world settings and gain confidence.Social Interaction: Build friendships and practice communication and teamwork in group settings.Community Engagement: Discover and enjoy the local community while fostering a sense of belonging.

Important Notes:

Aides Welcome: Participants requiring additional support are welcome to bring an aide. However, 1:1 assistance cannot be provided by our staff.

What to Bring: Please send participants with water, snacks, and any personal items needed for comfort and participation.

Transportation: Families are responsible for arranging drop-off and pick-up at the designated locations.

This program is specifically designed for neurodivergent individuals, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and other developmental differences. Our trained staff ensure activities are inclusive, safe, and adaptable to individual needs.

St. Anthony’s Saints & 5-Eleven Hoops Autism Acceptance Month Event 

Date: April 5th, 2025

Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Location: St. Anthony’s Gym, 620 Olive Ave., Long Beach, CA 90802

Join us for a special Autism Acceptance Month event focused on fostering inclusive interactions and strengthening community connections. This event provides a unique opportunity for high school students and participants to engage in meaningful activities together, promoting social growth, understanding, and teamwork.

Stations and Activities:

Basketball: Led by 5-Eleven Hoops staff and student volunteers

Soccer: Led by St. Anthony students with support from 5-Eleven staff

Arts and Crafts: Hands-on activities planned by St. Anthony students

Additional Station (TBD): Depending on registration numbers

Why This Matters:

By partnering with high school students, we create an inclusive environment where young leaders gain hands-on experience in mentorship and adaptive recreation, while participants benefit from peer engagement and social skill-building. These interactions foster lasting connections and promote a culture of acceptance within the broader community.

At our STEM Exploration Event, participants will engage in interactive activities designed to spark curiosity and encourage teamwork. Expect fun, hands-on experiments, building challenges, and technology-based learning that make STEM exciting and accessible for all abilities. Our goal is to create an inclusive space where kids can explore, learn, and grow while building connections with their peers.
